Emerald Park Homes was founded on a commitment to quality craftsmanship, sound building practices, and homes built to last.

Garry Sawchyn began his construction career while attending the University of Regina, working summers with Triple B Concrete, where he developed a strong foundation in concrete work. In 1980, he took the next step, buying a truck and power trowel to establish his own company, Apex Construction Ltd. Starting with driveways, garage slabs, basement floors, and foundation walls, Garry steadily grew the business. Within a decade, Apex Construction had expanded to include two framing crews and a dedicated basement crew.

In 1991, Garry set out to build a new home for his family. He chose Emerald Park for its sandy soil, which helped reduce the need for more costly foundation solutions. The area’s small town atmosphere and lower property taxes also made it an attractive place to call home.

A year later, in 1992, a mutual friend introduced Garry to local realtor, Gord Degelman. Recognizing their shared vision, the two partnered to establish Emerald Park Homes Ltd. From the beginning, their focus was clear: build solid, well-crafted homes with an emphasis on structural integrity, energy efficiency, and long-term durability.

A key part of that philosophy has always been the relationships built along the way. Emerald Park Homes has remained committed to working with trusted tradespeople and suppliers, many of whom are local, family-owned businesses. By treating these partnerships with the same respect and care as family, the company has built lasting relationships with people who share its dedication to quality and excellence.

Today, that founding philosophy continues to guide Emerald Park Homes. Through ongoing improvements in construction practices, materials, and building systems, the team remains focused on creating high-performance, durable homes that deliver lasting value, comfort, and peace of mind for generations to come.
