International Builders’ Show (IBS) 2023
We’re at IBS 2023 for the first time in three years! The first day of the show this year is January 31st, where we will join tens of thousands of our fellow residential construction professionals in Las Vegas!
The International Builders’ Show (IBS) is an annual event put on by the National Association of Home Builders (our American counterparts) that connects, educates and improves the residential construction industry. It’s a hub for new product launches, construction demos, industry thought leader sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and more. The people, products and knowledge you gain there give you the ideas and real solutions you need to grow and strengthen your business.
We absolutely love going, nowhere else will you find a convention center filled with this many innovative products and demonstrations all in one place. Some of the destinations we are excited about this year include the Start-Up Zone, featuring products or services from emerging companies. The Home Technology Pavilion, which uncovers what’s next in construction technology and the IBS New Product Zone, that debuts the hottest new products on the market. The Construction Performance Zone, nextBUILD and the Jobsite Safety Zone are also destinations we can’t wait to check out. In addition to the indoor show floor exhibits, attendees enjoy the impressive outdoor exhibits in the Pro Builder Show Village.
Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS)
One of our favourite parts to see at IBS is the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show that is also happening there. KBIS is the premier kitchen and bath event, the largest North American show serving the kitchen and bath sector.
Co-located with the International Builders Show, the event historically draws over 85,000 attendees including kitchen & bath designers, dealers, interior designers, architects, custom home builders, distributors, retailers, and media serving the total residential design and construction marketplace.
Over 800 exhibitors covering 800,000 net square feet of exhibit space use the event to introduce new products and programs to their channel customers. Three days of robust programming and education, as well as networking events and experiential environments offer a tremendously rich opportunity to touch many audiences.
Holmes Approved Partners
Our trip to Las Vegas isn’t entirely for IBS. On the day before the show officially kicks off, Mike Holmes and Michael Holmes along with their creative staff host the Holmes Approved Home Summit for their Holmes Approved Partners. In previous years there were informative presentations from many of Mike’s Holmes Approved Products with a question and answer opportunity afterward.
The HAH Summit is a great opportunity to meet other Holmes Approved Builders from all over Canada and the U.S to brainstorm and talk about shared challenges and solutions within our industry. Not to mention the cocktail hour at the end of the day and all the fun entails with a pop up camera booth for candid photos.
It’s also great to have Mike Holmes and his team at IBS to tour around with and see all the Holmes Approved Product partners that have booths at the show. We learn so much in such a short time there. Follow along with our social media pages for updates on what we find this year!
